While this might not mean that we’ll see wireless charging support in all OnePlus phones released this year, we can hope for some level of compatibility. A leak published earlier this month, suggested that the OnePlus 8 Pro — the upcoming high-end model from the company — might feature wireless charging. Earlier this year, in a podcast interview with The Verge, the company’s co-founder and CEO, Pete Lau, said the company preferred wired charging as the current 10W standard wireless charging is too slow and “not worth it....

Now a new app called Opal has a novel approach to disconnecting your apps from the internet to help you save some time from mindless hours of browsing. The iOS app uses a custom VPN to manage all these connections. So, once you start a session on Opal, you’d be able to open the app, but you won’t be able to refresh your feed. This is an interesting approach, and it kinda worked for me....

Researchers from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health collated data from over 370 million ride-hail trips taken in New York between 2017 and 2018. They compared traffic flows at the time of an accident, to a week before and a week after the incident. A number of investors are claiming to have lost money after Ripple Labs convinced them to buy its Ripple (XRP) cryptocurrency. The group has demanded that Ripple Labs pay damages and declare that Ripple (XRP) is security. In response, Ripple Labs says that federal regulators have already concluded that Ripple (XRP) is a currency and a commodity, not a security — an assumption based on interpretation of previous regulator statements and not official rulings (in other words, a stretch)....
